Dr. Ahmed Al Zaiter, the internationally renowned Arab businessman, is the founder of SGP Capital, a prosperous financial consultancy company. After a restructure that resulted in the creation of SGP Capital
Holding AG in Switzerland, Dr. Ahmed is currently the CEO of the holding company.
Dr. Ahmed’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident from a young age. In his early childhood, he built himself a bicycle from the remains of an old frame as his family could not afford to buy him one. By the age of 12, Dr. Ahmed had started working part-time, alongside his studies, under his father in a construction firm. As an evidently hard-working and ambitious young man, the goals he set himself as a child had started to materialize; the business magnate that he has become has come as no surprise to those around him. By the time he graduated from university, his earning were higher than those of his father.

Early Life

Born in 1964 into a humble middle-class household, Dr. Ahmed is the eldest child of six. His father was an engineer by profession and was a partner in a construction firm where he worked as a senior executive engineer, and so, perhaps unsurprisingly, Dr. Ahmed was raised to value education and hard work.
The values instilled by his family remained with him through his education and led to him study his BSc in USIUE. With the desire to always learn more and further develop his skills, he then completed his master’s from OSU and BU to gain his MSc, MCA, MBA, and PhD.

Career

Naturally blessed with an acute sense of business acumen, the young man joined one of largest, global future and option trading, Rudolf Wolf, in 1985 when he was just 21 years old. He originally started his journey with the firm as a trainee while completing his BSC degree. As a result of his ambition and drive, he was offered full-time work as an analyst assistant upon graduation and rose to handle $10 million funds and a team of five analyst traders.
By 1987 Barnes & Co, a Chicago-based firm, offered him the role of Head Analyst in the gulf region office in Kuwait. He was responsible for leading a team of 18 traders and managing $35 million in funds.
In 1990, Dr. Ahmed decided to use the experience and knowledge he has gained to form his own firm- Golden Flame Investments, in UTAH. He managed private investors with funds of up to $120 million with only a small team of five.
Following his success with Golden Flame Investments and on a personal mission to constantly develop, Dr. Ahmed decided to join a UK-based chartered accountant firm LSCP. This move led to a career change and subsequent advance to his MBA and later his PhD in forensic accounting and international taxation.
In 2004 founded ACAL (Al Zaiter Consultancy Association Limited). Despite registering tremendous success during his work with LSCP, in 2005, he quit the partnership and started the new venture to become operational, slowly due to the financial market collapse beginning in 2006-07, in early 2007, two reputable partners joined him to build the organization.
ACAL survived the most significant global recession, and by 2013 the firm’s future and vision for expansion in the USA and GCC zone has begun. By 2015, the board decided to re-brand the firm under SGP (sovereign global partnership). In 2019 he and the board became aware that the firm’s future needs restructure for 2nd time in the space of 4 years, with more people joining the board and management team. The SGP capital holding ag in Luzern, Switzerland, was established. Five divisions of SGP capital brand were formed to be a holding entity for their investments in USA, UK, Europe, North Africa, and Asia (GCC), the firm standing at turnover passing the $10 million and forecast for us$20-25 million by 2023.

Major Works

The founding of SGP, the financial accountancy services company to which Dr. Ahmed owes much of his current success, is undeniably one of his significant works. The company was founded in 2004 and flourished despite the recession to register phenomenal growth during the 2010s. The eminent firm built from a team of experts is set to continue growing, and, under Al Zaiter’s management, the company aims to be listed on the Switzerland stock exchange within the next five years.

He gained his fellow membership of institute of financial accountant (IFA) in 2002, association of international accountants (AIA) in 2003, institute of public accountants (IPA) in 2014 as well as Doctorate in Accounting and International Taxation (PhD) in 2009.

Personal Life & Legacy

Dr. Ahmed is a proud son, brother, father, and husband.
Owing much of his success to his family’s values instilled in him as a child, Dr. Ahmed is a firm believer in the importance of strong, positive relationships with all of his family members.
He believes in the importance of quality time with all family members despite the heavy workload resulting from being the CEO of two successful firm in a fast-paced industry.

Hobbies

Dr. Ahmed enjoys both playing and watching a range of sports from swimming, volleyball and football and driving and F1 motor sport, and he is a devoted Liverpool Supporter. He also enjoys travelling and embracing new cultures and experiences.
Despite balancing work, family, and his other hobbies, Ahmed always makes sure to read as much as he can. He firmly believes that reading is intrinsically linked to his confidence. It has helped him expand his knowledge and challenges him by giving him insight into a multitude of perspectives on different realities. It also helps him escape the hecticness of his everyday work.
His love for motorsports and Formula 1 also stems from the valuable lessons that he believes they teach. Both are a testament to how hard the drivers push themselves to acquire the skills necessary to succeed in their sports. In addition, a Formula 1 driver demonstrates respect and a commendable attitude towards other drivers; the sport as a whole demonstrates the importance of a synchronized team. Ahmed emphasises these same principles and values in his company.
